Lot Essay

This magnificent work was included in the International Center of Photography's exhibition, Peter H. Beard: The End of the Game, held in 1977-1978. The show was ICP's first one-man show and Cornell Capa, the museum's director, gave Beard and noted designer Marvin Israel the entire building to work with. Please see lots 27 and 28 for ephemera from the exhibition.
