Javier Calleja was born in 1971 in Málaga, Spain. He is known for his figurative works featuring wide-eyed characters and whimsical imagery, creating a unique blend of innocence and introspection that resonates with a wide audience.

Calleja’s artistic journey began in the realm of design, where he initially trained and worked before fully committing to his passion for fine arts. This background in design is evident in his meticulous approach to composition and his keen sense of visual balance.
